Air Connectivity to RewaThe fact about Rewa not having its own airport has already been mentioned in introductory paragraph. The nearest airport to main city of Rewa is Khajuraho airport located in Khajuraho town of Chhatarpur district. The distance between Rewa city and Khajuraho airport is approximately 160 kms (via national highway 75). Rewa commuters are advised to take the help of road transportation, preferably a private vehicle. This is because there are no direct buses and trains between Rewa and Khajuraho. As far as flight connectivity of Khajuraho Airport is concerned, then it is completely a domestic airport and is connected to almost all the important metropolitan cities via indirect flights. There are very few daily direct flights to and from this airport. And talking further about airline companies, Air India and Jet airways are prominent airline companies that serve their flight services to and from this airport. Budget airline companies like Spicejet and Indigo airlines operate very few flights from and to this airport.
Roadways in RewaWith three important National Highways (NH) passing through Rewa District, its connectivity with rest of India can be termed as pretty solid. These three important National Highways are NH 7, NH 27 and NH 75. Amongst these three NH7 is biggest and also the most important one. It is a major north – south national highway and hence connects Rewa to many of the important states of Northern and Southern India. These states are Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. As for other two National Highways, NH 27 connects Rewa to many cities of Uttar Pradesh and home state Madhya Pradesh and NH 75 connects Rewa and also Madhya Pradesh to eastern state of Madhya Pradesh.
Local Transportation in RewaRewa public transportation mainly compromises of auto rickshaws followed by local bus service, although both these services are mainly concentrated in main city Rewa. This is especially true about local bus service as they run within few radius km of Rewa city, while auto rickshaws are present in pretty decent number even in deep interiors of the district.
